Boot Styles: Types of Boots - [Reddit Wiki]
Types of Boots
We build all our boots to the same level of quality and craftsmanship. The denotation of boot types is simply to help focus selection for those who want it. All our boots can be made with work leather or heritage leather. If not available on a specific product page, it can probably be built with the Build Your Own options.
Work Boots
For over 60 years we have prided ourselves on building the world’s toughest work boots. From our origins in building heavy-duty logger boots, we have expanded our work boot offerings to service some of the toughest jobs: electricians, farmers, linemen, plumbers, foresters, EMTs, firefighters, and many others. We continue to offer dependable boots that work as hard as you do.
Our pre-designed work boots are limited to being built using work leathers however, they can be custom made with the Build Your Own option using any leather we offer. We offer work boots that meet specific professions requirements such as height, safety toes, slip resistance, Electrical Hazard certification, and NFPA certification. If your profession requires you to get the most out of your boots, Nicks is what you want to be wearing.

Fire Boots
Nicks Handmade Boots understands the demanding nature of wildland firefighting, where every step counts in the battle against raging infernos. That is why our EMS and city boots are meticulously crafted to meet the rigorous standards set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Each pair is handcrafted from premium materials and certified for firefighting use, embodying reliability and durability.

Heritage Boots
Heritage boots are an iconic style with deep roots in the American West. Built in a manner that is no longer common, our Heritage boots are made for daily wear with an all-leather construction that is built to last. What began as a couple of lower-profile versions of our classic BuilderPro and Ranger work boots for weekend wear, our Heritage Boot options have expanded into pull-ons, wedge soles, and many other options.
Our Heritage boots are crafted with the same build quality and standards as our heavy-duty work boots. Any of our Heritage designs can have a lug sole put on and be built with thicker work leather creating a quality Work boot masquerading as a Heritage boot.

Western Boots
Western boots are more than just footwear; they represent rugged tradition and modern style. With their unique design, top-notch craftsmanship, and versatility, these boots are loved by those who value durable quality. Whether you are a cowboy, outdoor lover, or into classic fashion, Nicks Western boots are built to the task.
Our Western boots come in pull-on and lace-up builds, with selectable options like spur shelves and more pointed-toe lasts for getting into stirrups. Our Western boots are the perfect blend of PNW durability and Western style.

Hiking and Hunting Boots
Our Hiking and Hunting boots embrace the rugged and adventurous spirit of the Pacific Northwest offering both an extremely durable upper leather and a more water-resistant and flexible construction to provide all-day support for hikes of any distance. Our boots will outperform your average hiking boot while providing a lighter-weight option compared to our other PNW boot styles.
