Boot Height

Refers to the height of the shaft of the boot, measured from the top of the heelstack to the collar. 

Boot height is a personal preference unless your profession requires a specific height. Taller boots protect from debris being walked through, but are heavier and can be harder to pull on.

  • Standard height for commercial hiking boot.

6”

  • Standard height for commercial hiking boot.
  • Compatible with single or two-piece backstay.

7”

  • Compatible with two-piece backstay only.
  • Pull loop recommended.

8”

  • Probably most popular boot height if work does not require a 10” boot.
  • Compatible with two-piece backstay only.
  • Pull loop recommended.

10”

  • Height required by many professions. 
  • Meets the NFPA Certification standard.
  • Compatible with two-piece backstay only.
  • Pull loop recommended.

Up to 16”

  • For heights taller than 10” contact Nicks for a special order and additional measurements needed. 
  • Compatible with two-piece backstay only.
  • Pull loop recommended.
