Nicks Boots typically run true to the Brannock measuring device size, +/- 1/2 size. Compared to other footwear, our boots tend to run true-to-size. Sole Sizing: Please note that although we carry a vase array of sole sizes, in some cases, the standard sole option that comes on your boot may not be available for your size foot size. This normally applies to very small feet and very wide feet. We may ask you to change the sole style due to the sole manufacture's sizing limitation. Soles that fit most sizes: V-Bar, Lug soles, 2021 Crepe Soles and sizing that don't: 430-mini, sizes 6 and shorter, 12 and longer, and wider than EE.

Measured from the top of mid-sole. 6'' is recommended for heritage and casual boots as it hits just above the ankle bone. 8'' is the default for the Traveler boot. Choose 8'' if you are looking for a bit more lacing and ankle support.

Soft Toe: Recommended. Maximizes Toe box comfort. Work leathers are plenty durable without any structure in the toe box. 9 out of 10 customers use a soft toe. Celastic Toe: Felt-like cloth infused with a hardening resin. Keeps the toe box from "sagging". Recommended for dressier boots. Some toe interference. Steel: Not ASTM rated. Only choose if your employer requires a safety toe. Conducts heat and cold, but is less intrusive in the toe box compared to composite. More "natural" toe profile. Toe box comfort no guaranteed. Composite: Not ASTM rated. Only choose if your employer requires safety toe. Conducts heat and cold less, but more intrusive in the toe box due to thickness. More "bulbous" toe profile. Because it is more bulbous, it tends to push the leather away from the ball the foot. Toe box comfort not guaranteed.

Some parts of the leather hide are not optimal for boots. We make matching leather goods from these parts of the hide and solid brass hardware. Add a key clip, catch all, and drink sleeve to your boot order! Assembly required.

Lead-times vary based on purchasing method. Most STOCK Configuration, 8-week ship boots are completed in 8 weeks. Most boots that are not stocked and need to be built take anywhere from 16-20 weeks based on fitting methods: build to my existing size, fit kit only, fit kit and try on process, and I am choosing my size.
