These broke in fast and honestly they are like sneakers now compared with any other PNW work boot I've worn, but no less sturdy and ready for the job. Well done Nicks!
My first Nicks boots and definitely not the last. I always worry that they only look good online, but the officer is equally stunning in person. Build quality is incredible!! Shipped and arrived within the quick ship time frame! Nicks sure are very confident with how durable their boot build is as they ship them in unprotected boxes :)). Box arrived like it went through hell, the boots inside are heaven sent and pristine.
swapped the laces to flat generation laces for a more "officer" vibe.
Great product and fit. Added extra cushioning to foot bed without taking too much space.
These Boots are great. This was my first venture in pnw boots and I can tell they are good quality right out of the box. They took a bit to break in, but honestly, it wasn't as bad as people say it is. They are comfortable and fit my feet well, which is all I can ask for from a pair of boots.
Very well made boots, solid build quality, to my exact spec. As I specced these to be more a 3 season boot they’re a bit too much for summer use (I’m out in the sun *all the time*, I wear light colored everything), I haven’t yet had a chance to break them in, and with the leather I specced (the weather shield), they’re going to need a LOT of break in to loosen up the instep, Once done I fully expect these to go the distance.
These were a gift for my son. He loves them, and wears them proudly! Thanks for the great craftsmanship and classic style.
This is my first pair of Nicks. I have been interested in their boots for a while, but there are so many models, types of leathers and options that it was kind of overwhelming. I have not noticed many sales or discounts, which is how I was exposed to their PNW competitors which I really enjoy. I decided to make it easy on myself and choose a quick ship model to limit my options and lessen the lead time. I am glad I did. It was between the Troopers and these Gamebreakers which I chose because I don’t have any LTT boots. This was the first time I have purchased a pair of boots and forced myself to forget about them so I wouldn’t obsess:) the boots were completed and shipped on the short end of the lead time window and the boots were well packaged and in flawless condition. They are very sharp looking boots and the TNW last is a better fit for my feet than the HNW last and since they are LTT, I can tie them I a way to get a snug fit and avoid the bite of the shallow instep that it shares with the HNW last. The break in has been pretty harmless. The upper leather is really stiff for the first week and the pinch from the horseshoe can be painful for the first few days since it is lower down the boot where the boots bend which means that seem digs into the top of your toe joints! It gets better after a few days and it’s not to bad if you don’t over do it. There is not much of a break in to the footbed since it is a removable leather insole over a rubber foundation. The wedge and Sierra sole are very comfortable while providing the support and stability I am used to in my other all leather construction boots. The only awkward thing about this boot last is due to the toe box changes, the overall geometry of the toe box is pushed forward making for a lot more space in front of your toes than usual. It was kind of making me second guess my sizing even though the heel, arch, and ball are all well aligned. I think it’s just a mental thing I guess. They fit well and are very comfortable already and one the uppers start to break in, I have no heel slip and it was minimal even when they were stiff. I decided to put on some W&C double stuffed crimson kilties I had along with burgundy laces to give them a pop of color. I really like them! I have been really impressed with the boots and the overall experience even though it sucks to wait for them to be built:) I was impressed enough to invest in another pair during this weeks Labor Day Sale. I ordered a build your own pair of 8 inch boots in the TNW last in the Cypress #8 leather. I can’t wait to get them! I decided to drop down a full size from my brannock and a size up in width to a 9.5 E. I have done that one time before with another brand and it worked well from a fit perspective. I hope I have the same experience with my new boots and I cut into some of that dead space in front of my toes:) I guess we will see. Thanks for building really cool well built boots. I enjoy being a customer!
I’ve been wearing the boots every day for a few hours in order to “break them in” . I’m enjoying them, they look beautiful and I get compliments on them too.
Can I use the use the shoe polish that was included with my boots? I want to protect them from getting water spots. Please let me know.
Super impressive all around. The look, feel of the quality, smell of the leather… its truly worth every penny. Couldnt be happier with this tote.
