size guide

Length: Our boots are longer than mass-produced footwear. With that in mind, we recommend going down a 1/2 size from your Brannock length. Example: If you normally wear size 12D, we recommend a size 11.5D for your Nicks.
Width: In addition to length, consider the width of your feet when selecting boots, as most brands' boots are built with the standard D width. This measurement is typically more precise with a tailors tape rather than a Brannock device. Nicks offers a wide range to help fit your feet, with A-FF widths available in many of our lasts.

My new favorite boots

Bought these in stock ready to ship. 10.5D, Max Support Black, Thurman Last, V-Bar soles. Had a squeak in the right boot for the first couple weeks, but it went away after some breaking in. These are so comfortable now, it’s better than coffee putting these on in the morning. The V-Bar is easy to clean, I’m not dragging in half the yard with me after yard work. My feet have stayed dry and comfortable. I just hose them off or wash them off in the lake when they get muddy or dirty, brush them off in the morning. Haven’t been in ice and snow with them yet, but I’m optimistic.

In short I am very pleased with these boots.

Narrow Shaft - Eat your Wheaties

Putting on boots is a workout due to the narrow shaft. Once on, boots are very comfortable. And you might think getting boots off would be easy, but you'd be wrong. That's part two of the workout. A "two-a-day" just to wear the boots. Hopefully they break in and get easier to take on and off (internet research suggests this to be the case). Or I can buy a shaft stretcher ($$$) to expedite the process. In the end, it will probably be worth it, but for now it's just frustrating...
