Good as new!

You need these boots!

Wow... This is my 4th pair of Nick's boots and by far the best one yet! They take a while to break in but once they are broken in, they feel like slippers! You can pay 280 or 320 for an inferior pair of RedWing's or other "premium brand" of work boots but you will buy a pair a year. With Nick's I have 4 season of pouring concrete, and new construction landscaping projects, dragging my toes on my hands and knees on all types of surfaces and I will get one more season before they will need to be re-soled! Do the math! That's a savings of 600$! Buy once cry once as they say. Except you won't be crying because your feet will LOVE you for it! I can't belive these Builder Pros are as comfortable as they are. I did not opt for this particular model for work because, the type of work I do, the amount of mud I would track with these soles would be astronomical. I bought these to wear around town and I couldn't be happier. They look great and feel better than they look! Thanks Nick's!! You have a customer for life, and yes, I tell everyone about Nick's. I am a a super fan!

Just what I asked for!

Four to five years ago I wrote a note to Nick's describing a hiking boot that I'd like to see them make. I specified it right down to the Vibram Sierra soles. When Nick's announced the Ridgeline I immediately ordered a pair built to my measurements. I had them use the measurements from my Builder Pros order but opted to go down a width to make sure my feet didn't slide around.

From a performance standpoint they are great! With added thick leather insoles and medium weight wool socks they are comfortable to wear all day on the trail. I no longer experience mashed toes on the steep downhills as the uppers keep my feet in place. After break in I haven't had any hot spots as my feet don't slide around in the boots... they stay put. After three active years of day hiking in the Catskills and on the Appalachian Trial they have held up very well with routine maintenance--no repairs to date.

I don't know if it will ever happen as life tends to get in the way, but I'm considering an AT thru-hike. If I can pull that off I'd buy another pair of Ridgelines and swap them off every month or so. I think two pair would survive the entire 2,200 miles and giving each pair a break for cleaning, drying, re-greasing, and new laces would be a far better option than going through 5 pair of synthetic hiking boots that would be miserable to wear for half or more of their life!

Good quality but sizing is off.

Good quality, but the sizing is incorrect, I recommend going down a size, ordered US 11.5 but they're closer to a US 13, going to have to get them fixed locally, cheaper than shipping costs. I'm from europe.

Ordered the kilties, not disappointed at the thickness!

Ordered the kilties in this leather in order to see what it looks and feels like. Was not disappointed! Very thick and the coloring was just right. A deep red color.

3 months later, I have an Overlander in W&C DS Burgandy on order, need I say more?

The strider is my favorite build!

I can only be honest

I can only be honest, I have got more than one pair of Nick's boots, and they are the best boots I have ever had, bar none. This should have been a 5 star review, my boots were rebuilt to Nick's usual hi standard, and for the most part the alterations I requested, were again done superbly, unfortunately, and this is why I can only give 4 stars, my boots were rebuilt to the wrong width, making them unwearable. Now this said Nick's are resolving the issue, and rebuilding the boots again, under warranty, but this has obviously cost me in time and money, especially as I am in the UK. Sorry Nick's. this should have been 5*, because your boots are the best, but the mistake cost you a star.

Quality and value is hard to beat. Fast shipping too

Perfect fit well worth the wait and money.

the kilties arrived on time and the boots arrived super early. and the product is exactly as advertised.

Just who I needed

These inserts or just what I needed to add a tad more padding to theinsole and stop my foot from slipping. Definitely recommend if you think your boots is just a little bit big and you don't want to wear thicker socks.

Great quality

Great quality. Great stuff.

I'd love to get my Nicks V3 though!!!

First pair of moc toe

Been wearing work boots for 35 years. Second pair of Nicks but first pair of moc toe boots ever. First pair of Nicks are Urban Logger in black max support and I love them but they did take awhile to break in. This pair of moc toe boots are the same size, last, and heel stack but made with predator natural leather. I've only had them for about two weeks at the time I wrote this but they may be the most comfortable boots Ive ever worn. Still took some break in and still getting better but I love how they just keep getting better each day. I did add a leather sole that I didnt originally have. Nicks customer support has alwabeen good to me also.

Top class materials and construction; however, it's very difficult to put them on

These are my first pair of boots from Nicks. They are tanks, indestructible - the craftsmanship, construction and leather totally live up to Nick's name. However, it's not a 5-star purchase because the design of the boots (with very narrow opening) makes them a huge pain to put the boots on - it's getting a little bit better now after 6-7 wears, but still a challenge (I literally sweat for pulling them on lol). Perhaps I should pick the non-gusseted tongue style for my next boots with Nicks. Overall, still pretty damn good.

High quality boots.

Love the boots. Break in wasn’t terrible, after about 2 months, things have really settled in. They are holding up well, I’m an apprentice electrician and I’m not nice to these boots besides brushing them off at the end of the day and cleaning/condition once.
Boots are not warm if you live in a cold climate like I do in the U.P. But warm socks make it manageable.
I wear a 9.5 in most boots/shoes but I ordered a 9 in Nicks and they have been good. A little snug at first but they stretch.

Perfect.

This is the PERFECT professional boot. I have had my pair for about a year and can say these are perfect for walking long distances. Even in 90 degree temps with 100% humidity, they are no problem. I have never bought a fancy pair of boots. . . . . but imagine all previous potential boot purchases that I never made are FAR inferior. . . . . even though these weigh over 7 pounds. (literally) ((they have to pay me for pictures)) (((thats the rules)))

Favorite Work Boot

Bought the ND3 during the first release. Hands down my favorite work boot I've ever worn. The mix of the sturdy leather footbed and the softer Sierra sole make these boots really supportive but a little softer under foot on hard surfaces.

Not sure if this was Nicks' first boot available in the ThurmanNW last, but it was my first experience with a Munson style last. The 55 last is good, but the Thurman is awesome. I ordered my Tankers in the ThurmanNW based on my experience with the ND3s.
