Very well made boots

Very well made boots, solid build quality, to my exact spec. As I specced these to be more a 3 season boot they’re a bit too much for summer use (I’m out in the sun *all the time*, I wear light colored everything), I haven’t yet had a chance to break them in, and with the leather I specced (the weather shield), they’re going to need a LOT of break in to loosen up the instep, Once done I fully expect these to go the distance.

Tanker Pro roughout

Long wait, but that was expected. It was warm outside when I first got them. So I just tried them on and put them away. It got cool again so I decided to wear them to get an initial break in. They’re great. Took only a day or two for the sharp edges to smooth out. Wore them on a mile plus walk my 3rd day. And they’re breaking in nicely.

Do it all boot.

Love my tankers . I use them primarily for work. As an electrician we are already the coolest on the job site. The tankers make me an even cooler sparky. They fit almost every need i have in a pair of boots.Down in a muddy ditch, no problem. Walking on concrete all day with the honey vibram no problem. Up and down on a ladder all day they hook in nicely to the rung. If I'm crawling around in a tight space or just working in a tight spot they don't fatigue my feet or feel clunky. They're the perfect mix between a slip on and a lace up. I wear these more than my builder pros and MTO lace ups. I wear them here, there and everywhere. Satisfied customer.

Curiosity got the better of me.

Sliding my feet in, I knew immediately, this was something different. The 55 Last hugged my foot as if molded for me alone. The Vibram White‑X sole gave grip that inspired confidence, whether on slick pavement or muddy ground. The burn-resistant stitching and thick leather weren’t for show; they were built to endure.

These TankerPros solved a problem I didn’t even know I had, the quiet acceptance of “good enough.” They reminded me that there’s always more to learn, that craftsmanship evolves, and that innovation isn’t the enemy of tradition, it’s the continuation of it.

And every time I wrap those straps around my ankles instead of tying a lace, I’m reminded that sometimes the best craftsmanship doesn’t follow convention—it redefines it.

The leather inside where the toughest leather of the toe was unfinished and cut at 90

The leather inside where the toughest leather of the toe was unfinished and cut at 90. The other boot had a large flap of leather in the same place that would fold under and press against the top of my foot. I had to take them to get finished by a cobbler. Once the leather was tapered and the excess was removed and tapered the boots were able to be used . Besides having to take a new set of boots to someone to complete the finishing they seem good.

Greener Pastures Waxed Flesh Tanker w/ White Stitching. Beeswax Honeylug.

Beautiful teacore leather with a stiff temper when cold and a buttery temper when warm and worn. Great but subtle color shift over the toe and heel with the white stitching making the boot pop. The white stitching with the beeswax treated midsole and honey lug outsole help to bring the leather's tone up a notch. A boot as beautiful and well put together as one could hope for. Can't wait for the next pair!

The build your own system is fantastic

The build your own system is fantastic, it allowed me to design exactly what I was hoping for. The boots are incredibly comfortable and have been breaking in quickly.

Tanker-Pro: I like them very much.

They fit well with plenty of toe room with the Thurmon last. I'm finding the breaking period to be more pleasant than my Builder-Pro 55 last.
With the strap system and wedge sole they are great for driving the truck and walking on concrete and steel decking. I should add they are probably the sharpest pair of work boots I've ever seen.

Very Impressed

This is my first tanker boot. Very impressed with the fit and comfort. Beefy but definitely flexible for working. We’ll see how ell the added insulation does in the winter. But very happy with the fit and look.

Very solid boots

I have had a very positive experience getting these boots, i got to speak to the owner of nicks online and he helped me out greatly. The boots are awesome and will be perfect for working in the woods.

If you are not used to wearing these kinds of boots for work they will seem heavy, but the leather could last your lifetime if taken care of.

Big thanks to everyone at nicks for making this as painless of a experience as you could, I’ll be spending more money here at some point

Great boots that stand out from the pack

I ordered these a while back in their black 1964 leather and have literally worn them every single day since I got them at least 6-7 months ago. They have not left my side through everything and anything. They're with me when I'm driving truck, operating forklift on the dock, helping out my grandparents on their boarding farm, or even just going out on the town and living life. I've even got some complements as they stand out from the conventional boots you'll see because if I'm being honest they're pretty punk rock. I absolutely recommend these if you want something that's pretty easy to get on and off and don't mind the roomier fit and don't mind standing out, in a good way. Also, I've got to give a shoutout to the customer service. My initial order of the boots were too tight and Nick's made sure that I was able to size up slightly to get them to fit properly and they made sure the process was as painless as possible, which is good because now I know what size to order when I order from them again. Even if this style of boot isn't for you, I would still recommend a pair of Nick's.

There Great, but know what you're buying

for the last 1-1/2 years I've been running them they've been great but the straps will tend to loosen up due to body heat, but as far as I can tell they'll last.

I've found that my foot will set in-between two different strap sizes but an easy way to combat it is to run the loser size and wear thicker socks

other than that there like any other pair they sell. High quality, month-ish break-in period, long lasting if you care for them.

Would Reccomend to a friend.

U get what u pay for

These boots are awesome! They are a work of art. I love when i can buy something that is made by the dedicated hard working hands of a fellow countryman. I have had mine a bit over a year And they do everything I want them to. I'm not used to having a boot with a heel and I found. I really like it for getting a grip on slopes on the ground and on roofs and stuff. Nick says to get a boot half.A size smaller than you usually went with my regular size because I wanted to be able to comfortably get an extra pair of socks on in the winter time. I'm pretty happy with this decision. But I do find that it's hard to wear the boots with just one pair of socks and an added leather insole. Nevertheless, I wear them everyday. I'm doing heavy duty work Whether it's hot or cold out. I love the boots so much as soon as I can afford to i'm going to get the same pair half A size smaller and maybe get the extra leather toe cap too. I haven't worn through the toe. I have now but I really abuse my boots. Sometimes I use my boots as a hammer which has led to the only real issue. I've had with the boots. Which is one of the heels is separating a little bit. But like I said, I literally use my foot as a hammer frequently. So I'm not really surprised that happened.I put some j b weld in there and hasn't come apart again yet. The straps are totally cool. Super fun to take on and off especially for my kids haha. I have had no issue Getting the straps to a comfortable tightness. If you're looking for a pair Serious heavy duty work boots without laces buy these boots.

I'm impressed

Beautiful out of the box, and very obvious the quality of these boots. The colour is perfect, the stitching is perfect, and the fit is amazing!

Honestly, I have never worn any footwear as comfortable as these boots! Three months of daily wear and not once did I have sore feet. As for breaking in, there was no break in period; at least not an uncomfortable one. Yes, they were costliest footwear I've ever purchased, but absolutely worth it!

I will gladly wear these for the rest of my life, and will tell everyone where to get their own pair.
