The Tactical Boot is made using Nicks 7-8oz work leather, now available in three different tannages. You can choose the leather that fits your application best.
- Classic MaxSupport work leather standard on our Builderpro models is 7-8oz of the most supportive leather available. While it may be accompanied by a longer break in time, this leather tannage will provide optimal support even after years of wear.
- 1964 Easy Break-in leather is a Nicks exclusive offering. Packed full of more oils, this leather is more supple and provides an easier break in than the traditional work leathers. Still weighing in at about 7-8oz in thickness there is no sacrifice on durability.

Nicks WeatherShield leather is impregnated with a silcone solution during the tanning process, making it more water resistant than typical oil tanned leathers. The water beads right off of this heavy 7-8oz option.
Our new 365 Stitchdown Construction offers increased sole flex and water resistance for an all season boot. The midsole construction is a high grade 8IR rubber midsole, with a military grade ployurethane wedge for added impact resistance and comfort. The interior of the boot features a full length 6-7oz veg tan leather insole, that will take the shape of your foot like our classic all leather construction but can be removed when it wears out, or replaced with your favorite insole.

Sizing
- Length: Our boots are longer than mass-produced footwear. With that in mind, we recommend going down a 1/2 size from your Brannock length. Example: If you normally wear size 12D, we recommend a size 11.5D for your Nicks.
- Width: In addition to length, consider the width of your feet when selecting boots, as most brands' boots are built with the standard D width. This measurement is typically more precise with a tailors tape rather than a Brannock device. Nicks offers a wide range to help fit your feet, with A-FF widths available in many of our lasts.

Tactical Boot - Build Your Own
This is my fourth pair of Nick’s boots. I built this pair of tactical boots with a composite toe and plan to wear them for work. They fit great and will be perfect for all day work in factories. The toe is a little “bigger” than I like, compared to my other boots, but I needed the composite toe, so I will be happy with them! Nick’s is the best!!
Finally got my sizing dialed in and despite a little tightness across the ball of my foot and the Nicks bite across my instep on my right foot these are the best fitting boots I have gotten from Nicks. The Thurman last is incredible. The insulation is a bit warm for May weather up in New England but I can't wait to put it to the test this Fall and Winter.
I wanted the top tier of military boots so I bought these with the ThurmanNW last. I ordered on September 30th 2025 and received them on March 16th 2026. They are are far superior in fit and better in quality than all 6 military boots I own, which include 2 Canadian, 3 American, and 1 Austrian. Using the Nicks sizing system, the fit is perfect with a snug heel and instep with enough width in the forefoot. I can highly recommend these boots especially with the Thurman last.
These are amazing boots, they look and feel very robust. Opting for the Thurman last provided ample room for natural toe movement and space for thicker socks. Opting for no pull tab means pant legs don't hang up when getting in and out of vehicles.
This is my third pair of Nicks Boots this Year. My first order was the Flex Pro , my second was the Builder Pro....Both awesome boots, im still breaking in the Builder Pro boots using them at least once a week on park trail hikes. The tactical looks great, ill be wearing them soon.
These boots were amazing from the moment I put them on. Spent 10 hrs in my feet the first day, no problem! didn’t think it was possible, but they get more comfortable with each passing day!
