Great boots , great craftsman, solid company

I just crossed the bridge into one year of ownership of some of the best boots in the country. Probably any country aside from Viberg in Canada… they fit well. Break in seems easy at first ; but wait until your a couple weeks in and don’t have a fallback pair of footwear to do some heavy walking or skipping. My heel still bares the marks of the last half mile or so of nonstop skipping( it was a bet) . I like the way the leather smells like leather even after a year of my feet sweating in them and once my cat pissed on them. But its like they say the natural materials are more breathable and don't hold odors. If I could go back I would buy them all over again but would have waited for the sale or just picked up seconds since you beat up footwear anyway whether you spend $750 or $75. I love them thank you Nick and your employees.

Quality: These boots are beautiful. The leather is soft and smooth, no imperfections found. If you've never had boots like these, you'll notice how thick and sturdy they are, built like a tank. But also no weird tightness or pinching. Knowing they're handmade, I was looking for anything that would annoy me, like the heights being slightly off between the two, or the heel block not perfectly level or something (seen those on other brands). I had to look really hard, and be really nit-picky to find anything to point out, and the only thing I can come up with is the four lines of stitching on the toe caps might not be exactly the same spacing between the two boots. But I had to look really hard to find anything.

Fit: I've been on this boot journey for a few years, buying heritage style boots from a few different brands, and I could never seem to find exactly the right size. This is my first pair of Nick's. My understanding was the fit and sizing is probably pretty similar to the others I'd tried from another popular boot company out of Spokane, so I had that reference point. I also bought a Brannock device and compared that to the Nick's sizing instructions (was also able to get arch length which was critical for me). I think I've finally figured it out. My length to toe is just over 10. But my arch length is solidly 11, and also my width/circumference is on the narrow side. In the past, I'd gotten 9.5D or 10D based on what felt snug (and D was narrowest option), but it didn't feel right when walking, didn't bend in a natural place. I'd tried up to 10.5D which felt better when walking, except it was like swimming in clown shoes. So the solution was: half size down from the longer of toe/arch length (my 11 arch meant size 10.5), then using Nick's width guide and a measuring tape, I came up with C width (maybe B but I was afraid of leaping that far). With the 10.5C, I finally understand what people are talking about when they say it should be snug but comfortable. It hugs all around, my heel is locked, foot doesn't slip around, and when I walk, it bends in a natural place. It's only been a few days, and I can tell I'll be happy.

Price and Value: Considering the quality and life expectancy of these boots, they're really not that expensive at all. Just find the right size for you, including arch length and foot width/circumference.

Americana brown CXL

This is my first pair of Nicks boots after watch over 50 videos about nicks hand made boots. I went from don't know anything about Nicks and now I own 4 within 3 months. I love how it fit and it is very easy to break in too. The quality is just amazing, the craftsmanship is the best, and you can feel it as soon as you open the box. it is look beautiful and when I wear them to go to work or out, people recognize and make comment right away. I have no problem wear them for 8 hours the very first day and I can't wait to have them fully broken in.

Craftmanship is remarkable

Recently received my Americana in CXL Brow. My size is 8D was dead on and I’m glad that I didn’t go down in size. I took a chance to order my Nick’s boots same size as all my other boots like, Iron Ranger, Frye Logger, and Drew’s boots. This is my first pair of Nicks, and they look and fit amazing. There is no comparison. These boots feel rock solid and require not breaking in. Got is yesterday and wear it for 6 hours no problem at all. The quality and craftmanship is remarkable. I have been watching the video of how these boots are made, and the people that work at nicks make me want to come to do a tour at the factory and personally thanks them all for their hard work.

Big Boy Boots

Jumped on a set of ready to ship Americana in Olive and I couldn't be happier. They were on sale and arrived from across the country in a few days. As expected they started out little stiff, but are breaking in nicely.

I was skeptical when DIY sizing guide said I measure a 9E because all my other boots are 8.5D, but they fit perfectly.
